"The selfless act of love ain't that selfless dude! Morals, commitment are not what they used to be. The concept of "one life to live" is used much too often by everyone, I guess, as an excuse to give in to immediate pleasure. "

"At our age, we've probably got only around 1800 weekends to live (females about 2200). How many of these are you going to spend living it up?"

It's interesting to see that people keep making such statements over the years. I guess the specifics may change but the broad perspective remains the same over the ages.
we've probably got only around 1800 weekends to live
That's an awful freakin' lot of weekends! Anyway, different folks have different notions of 'living it up', not all of which require indulgence in immorality or bunking on commitments. I hate sounding like a wise old man but not taking a hard line on either side is what I'd consider as a good way of living.

1) there are more than 1800 dishes that waiting to be tasted
2) there are more than 1800 places that waiting for you to visit
3) there are are more than 1800 songs/films that you have yet not heard/seen
4) at the rate one word per weekend you will still not have an expert vocab
5) will you be able to leave a legacy behind when its time to go?
the question is in your - 1248 weekends so far what have you accomplished?
